Put upgrade is the same folder with patch, repair, upgrade, most secure ever, trusted computing.

winipcfg also lets you release your ip and renew it and probably other things.

To me it just seems to be simpler to tell people to click start > run type > winipcfg >click release, reboot.

No syntax involved.

I usually tell them to reboot than hit renew cause it almost guarantees a different ip address.

Now we have regressed to the Doz prompt.

Remember most or a lot of users can't even figure out how to attach a picture to a e-mail.

You telling me now that I could have upgraded win3.1 to XP?

Why didn't I think of that. !

Unless you want one for a version of windows for this century. Then its
WNTIPCFG (seems to work on XP also)
It is surprising that you can actually manage a network with only gui tools at this point. So many of the command line tool functions seem to be missing in any guis that I am aware of. Guess I am just old fashioned.

No it's not me that's having problems it's trying to explain how to fix it to other people. It don't bother me if it's machine code actually. Whatever I already do that all day long. It just seems to me easier to get somebody to run a gui program than explain to them what they must type in a command line. What they going to do write it down on paper? Cut and paste? They make syntax mistakes then wonder why it never fixes anything.

It would be handy if it was built in, it was now it's not. Explaining to them where to go download it install it then click a stupid single button I might as well just tell them how to type it in and cross my fingers they get it right.

When you start your car do you twist wires together or use a key? It's 2005 already. Apparently microsoft lost the key and is back to twisting wires together.

What would use propose? Here is my keys go start my car or here that's my car take this big screwdriver here and rip out the ignition. Cut off the red & black and brown wires. Twist the red and black together then just touch the brown wire too it it engage the starter. To shut it off just pop the clutch ! Oh don't forget to chain it to a pole to keep it from now being stolen.

Abort? Retry? Suspend?

Forget that idea I just posted. Look for the thread of the other person having problems logging in posted in the last two days and add you post there complete with what you have tried so far and any errors. This on this thread has been resolved months ago already.
