Whilst duplicate placemarks are generally not desirable, I have, in the past, argued that duplicate placemarks with a different content and different perception should not be considered duplicate. see this post where I had to put up some defence (and ofcourse, get a positive response.........the Administrators and Moderators are fair in their dealings with members.) I think the future of GE is more an assured future, because, amongst other reasons, GE has viable economic and wealth generating basics.........I see Google Earth images most of the time on CNN, BBC .

But the GEC is a forum. As far as I know, there is no section of GEC that tells us how GEC was formed, who 'owns ' GEC, this would enable us to form our own assesment of GEC's future. This has now attained significant and vital proportions, because an enormous wealth of info is posited in this forum.

GEC 'belongs' to all of us, so it is natural that more is known in this matter.
