Hi Carl,
Thanks for the reply. I've been inspired by artist communities in the past centuries (the Impressionists in Paris, Gauguin and Bonnard in Brittany, the German expressionists (Die Brucke) in Dresden, Andy Warhol's Factory in New York, etc. Somehow a new idea in art isn't new or even art until it becomes a movement whose products come with an (art critics) stamp that says "this is ART". But in this day and age we should be able to create a movement without physically being in one spot. The planet wide view is what Google Earth is all about. I think and hope this forum might prove to be the starting point of such a movement. Discussion about our new art is not only stimulating and a lot of fun, but to my mind essential for a new movement. What should it be about, what should we call it ('GE art', 'satellite art', 'earthscapes' or whatever), what is the dividing line between GE art and everything else, etc?
Anyway, I believe this new art form is inevitable, whether we start it off or some one else does.
Your idea of sponsoring has crossed my mind too, and yes the Google company was the first I had in mind too! I'm sure that - once we become noticed - Google headquarters would love to have an exhibition at their headquarters (in California I believe?). Right now I'm still struggling to get noticed by Google page ranking system. This forum is a good start, but I think it needs to grow before we attract attention from the big guys. But I'm confident we will!
Keep on painting!
