The strange thing about that is that the city government of Tel Aviv already has a high resolution satellite map and photos of the city online:

It was one of the things that interested me in this technology and made me interested in Keyhole. Thought it was cool. Then when Google Earth came out, I was surprised that there were no hi-res photos of Israel, especially Tel Aviv given the fact that there is one provided by the municipal goverment already online, but of Amman (??). I thought Jerusalem would have been especially interesting seeing all of the historical things in that city.

And, Tel Aviv isn't alone, there are also very hi-res photos of Rafah on the Gaza-Egypt border floating around as well:
