There's still a problem where installing Google Earth on Asian systems (I tried it on Chinese and Japanese version of Windows XP Home - I'm not sure about other versions) where the user name is in double-byte characters makes huge problems (the program can't find some of the interface bitmap, you can't save my places, things like that)

That is surprising, as the remedy is pretty simple - what I do is I copy all the Google Earth files from my profile's "Documents and settings" to the "All users" folder and then change all the relevant registry entries to point to correct directory - everything works flawlessly after that.

I'm thinking - could you implement an option to chose where the data files get installed? It's a pain in the neck to move everything and change the registry entries manually each time a new version comes out...
