Macau Tower, also known as Macau Sky Tower , is a tower located in Macau which is a Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China.

The tower measures 338 m (1,109 ft) in height from ground level to the highest point. It's the world's tenth tallest free standing tower in the world.



The tower is part of the Macau Tower Convention & Entertainment Centre , which also includes an observation deck with panoramic views, restaurants, theaters, shopping malls and the Skywalk X, a thrilling walking tour around the outer rim has also been organised at the tower's 233-metre level. It offers a great view of Macau.

SkyJump is the newest AJ Hackett challenge introduced at the Tower featuring an exhilarating flight through 233m of Macau sky. It is now officially recognized as " the Highest Commercial Decelerator Descent" by the Guinness World Records .

The Macau Tower is based on Auckland's Sky Tower. Macau casino king and billionaire " Dr Stanley Ho" liked that tower so much that he commissioned Auckland's engineering firm Beca Carter and architects Craig Craig Moller to design a similar tower in Macau. The Tower was officialy opened in 19th December 2001.

There is a beautiful fountain in the shape of a lotus (the representative flower of Macau) outside the Macau Tower.



Besides being used for observation and entertainment, the tower is also used for telecommunications and broadcasting.
