The Sonidus Ethnographical Archives (SEA) recently one of Europe's largest motion picture ethnographic collection aside from state financed archives. Our archives serves the goals to give documentation and to save cultural and environmental diversity. Mainly we study the culture and environment of people who live next to the nature.
Traditional way of life and the knowledge attached to it vanishes as quick as untouched natural environment. The founder of the Archives in 1998. realised the lack of motion picture documentary of the subject in Hungary and this is the point of time when the collection has started. Including records from other collectors, birth of the documents could be dated between 1962 and 2008. By the start of 2008. the archives contained more than 600hrs video, 300hrs audio and some 5000 photo. Most part of it are results of in-situ own collecting work, smaller part of it has came to the archives by agreements with particular collectors. We do our works by application of ethnographist expert and preferably with professional crew. Number of our team besides the editorial staff counts more than 20 co-workers. Operator of the archives the Sonidus Archívum Nonprofit Kft. spends their incomes maintaining, developing and publishing the collection. Until the start of 2008. the company publicated more than 600 video segment mainly on website
www.youtube.com/user/sonidus , which sharing more than 20hrs for free and represents the whole collection. The videos are also available from the Google Earth/Layers/Gallery/YouTube layer as well as we put up entries on Wikipedia related to our collections.

A Sonidus Etnográfiai Archívum (SEA) jelenleg Európa egyik legnagyobb mozgóképi néprajzi gyüjteménye, az állami fenntartású archívumokat kivéve. Archívumunk a kultúrális és természeti diverzitás dokumentálásának, megörzésének célját szolgálja. Elsösorban a természet közelében élö emberek kultúrájával és környezetével foglalkozunk.
A tradicionális életforma és a hozzá tapadó tudás hasonló gyorsasággal tünik el, mint az érintetlen természeti környezet. Az archívum alapítója 1998-ban döbbent rá arra, hogy szülöföldjén milyen kevés ilyen jellegü mozgóképi felvétel készült. Ekkora tehetö a gyüjtemény indulása. Más gyüjtöktöl származó filmek átvétele által, a bekerült dokumentumok keletkezése 1962-2008 közé tehetö. A gyüjteményben 2008. elején, több, mint 600 óra videó, 300 óra audió és mintegy 5000 fotó volt található. A gyüjteménybe került anyagok többsége helyszínen végzett saját eredeti gyüjtés, kisebb része pedig egyéni gyüjtökkel való megállapodás révén került az archívumba. A saját gyüjtéseket minden esetben etnográfus szakértö bevonásával végezzük, és lehetöleg profi technikai stábbal. A külsö munkatársak száma több, mint 20 fö. Az archívum üzemeltetöje a Sonidus Archívum Nonprofit kft., amely mint non-profit cég, a bármilyen forrásból származó bevételeit a gyüjtemény fenntartására, gyarapítására és a közzétételre fordítja. 2008 elejéig több, mint 600 videó szegmenst publikáltunk, elsösorban a
www.youtube.com/user/sonidus website-on, mely több mint 20 óra gyüjtés ingyenes közreadása által az egész gyüjteményt reprezentálja. Az összes videót a Google Earth, youtube galériájából is elérhetövé tettük, valamint a Wikipédiában a gyüjtéseinkhez kapcsolódó szócikkeket teszünk közzé.
