this is a ROUGH plot of the Long Trail. It is not very accurate, so it is not suitable for navigation by any means. However, I think it will be useful if you are looking for a general idea of the trail's route. If someone has better data that they would like to contribute, please let me know, I'd be happy to add the new data to the track. Otherwise, I'll eventually go out and hike the trail with a gps... but that might be a few years from now.
The track for the northern section of the trail (the Non-Appalachian Trail part) was created by tracing the trail from USGS topo quads. Some of these quads are probably over 20 years old so the route has most likely changed a lot since then. Additionally, the route of the Long Trail as shown on topo quads probably wasn't very accurate to begin with, so please keep this in mind while viewing the track.
The section of the LT which is concurrent with the Applalachian Trail is more accurate since it is based on data from the Appalachian Trail Conservancy. Technically it is a simplified version of their Appalachian trail Shape file available on their web site:
