If you wish to include applications, such as ArcGlobe, rather than projects, then you can add:

Erdas Imagine Virtual Delivery for Virtual GIS (2005, can you say "jumped on the bandwagon"?)
Skyline Software TerraSuite (globe model introduced in ~2001)
GeoVirtual GeoShow3D (no idea on year)

GeoVirtual is probably not "major", I imagine Virtual Delivery may become somewhat wide spread just because of the large Erdas Imagine / Leica LPS user base. Skyline products are BIG in intelligence/defense/homeland security.
