OMG - this really brings it home to you. Living (as I do) in the UK, we don't tend to see this kind of thing, and certainly not on this scale... and your cameras have already made me realise that in a way I'd never experienced before.
Half-past Eight on a Friday morning, and not a soul to be seen on the highways in the Houston Gulf Harborside. No signs of Rita yet (that I can tell)- but just the eerieness of seeing so many empty freeways is really chilling. Spooky ghost-town stuff. Humbling.
I hope the folks affected by this can make it through the next few days safely. My thoughts and hopes are with them.
