This is an excellent example of using Google Earth and GPS technology. As a sailor, I have a lot of respect for the sea and marine science. I've written an article about this at the Google Earth Blog.

I hope that other marine scientists who are tracking (or have tracked) sharks, whales, dolphins, turtles, etc. will think to use Google Earth to visualize their data and share it with the world.
