A week ago, tropical storm Stan passed though Guatemala.

Official deathcount is above 500. But thousands are missing after mud avalanches destroyed many towns in this impoverished nation. Many other towns have been flooded by rivers and more than a hundred are estimated to be isolated due to road obstruction/destruction.

Help is needed. It will take years for this country to recover after so much devastation.

This post locates the towns mentioned by local media as most impacted. Some have been destroyed. Many are isolated. It will be updated as more news arrive.
