Thanks for the quick response but I already tried both your suggestions - one thing I did just try was opening the KMZ using WINRAR and I get the following

! Seek error in the file D:\Documents and Settings\Sue\Local Settings\Temp\164827-wfb.kmz
An attempt was made to move the file pointer before the beginning of the file.
