Munden,
LF08 looks a little funny because it had an unusual history. It started life as a Minuteman I (WS-133A) site and was converted for Minuteman II later in life. During the Peacekeper deployment at Vandenberg it was converted along with LF02 and LF05 for use in the PK test program. In the late '90s or 2000 we converted it back to a Minuteman configuration. This time Minuteman III with a twist. Half the silo was filled with concrete and an iron bird (missile simulator) was installed for use by the maintenance training squadron on base. I don't know of any rails other than the launcher closure rails. I do know there isn't anything across the street other than a grass parking area. The gray box is the roof of the instrumentation room installed at all of the PK sites. If you look at the other PK LFs you can see the box. I spent a very long month up the hill at LF02. The launch and impacts in the Kwajalein Missile Range at the end made it all worthwhile...
