Munden is right. I sent him a bunch of placemarks for Vandy missile facilities to flesh out the 'Ancestral Home of Missileers'. The placemarks I sent him are all missile related uses of the facilities. If we used the most current use of the place, the Atlas E sites would all be named Joe Blow's House. Not too useful from a historic perspective.
Since this latest discussion is about Peacekeeper use of Bldg 12K, I would like to point out that there was a Guidance Data Analysis Lab (DAL) in there until the late '90s, well after the building handover to the Communications Squadron. We used it to characterize the performance of the Peacekeeper guidance system, which even to this day is one of the most sophisticated machines devised by man. It was a free floating sphere suspended in a fluid bath. Incredibly sensitive with unholy accuracy. The DAL allowed us to monitor the performance of the test missiles in the launchers on North Vandenberg and capture the data for later analysis.
