I have the c000000c error that others have reported. I'd appreciate any help.

Using Windows XP Home, and was running an earlier version of GE GREAT until last night!

Installed .0762 last night and immediately got the c000000c error. I went to the support page linked to the error message, and followed instructions:

Turned off firewalls.
Checked IE for Working Offline -- It's UNchecked
No McAfee, no Norton
I use AVG Free Anti-virus, and don't think it's causing a problem
Don't have anti-popup software except in Firefox
Haven't installed any software since last using GE.

Tried running GE again -- got same message

I un-installed/reinstalled GE .0762
Got same message

Did a system restore to prior to installation of .0762
No luck, of course. "Google Earth has encountered a problem and must close."

Downloaded and reinstalled GE.
Back where I started.

Some people have found some registry fixes that helped. Apart from wondering why Google would break GE in the process of improving it, I'm wondering if there's a better help page than the one they post, or if there's a step-by-step registry troubleshoot for those who are uncomfortable working in the registry.
