This is a series of overlays showing the major watersheds on Earth.

I cheated occasionaly by combining what are normally considered separate drainages into one. Examples are the Chesapeake Bay & Hudson Bay, which often show several different rivers. This compares to watersheds such as the Mississippi, which normally has the Ohio, Missouri, Arkansas, & several others mapped together.

If you try to view all of the overlays at once, you can, but you will see gaps & overlaps where different watersheds meet. This is because of the difficulty of superimposing flat maps onto round ones. This could have mostly been avoided by coloring in an entire area, then just drawing lines showing each boundary, but that defeats the purpose of trying to show individual watersheds. So. it's just a small irritant I have to live with.

I've also included a few land-locked watersheds, such as the Humboldt in this group.

Not much info is given, because it's just an overlay post, not an information one. Just enjoy the pretty pictures.

If interest seems high, I have plans to do each continent like this. I will also take requests, if someone has a specific river, or bay, they want to see. Just keep in mind that the major ones will already be on the list for future groups & that little streams won't work. I have to be able to find the waterway on a map to trace it.

Let me know what ya think.

First group is North America, which also will most likely be the largest.
