My 2 cents on this fascinating subject as follows:
1: age, these things are new,shallow features like these dont last too long.
2:The shotgun patern is not really all that odd for perhaps a bolide that broke up very far away .On the moon the thing would have come straight in making a simple crater. I am refering to the carolina sites that have a roughly 45 degree spread.As for the other sites Is it posible that the event
occured at multiple times like the yearly meteor showers ?most meteor showers are comet remnants.
3:comet empact ejecta would have made at the very least glass tektites and nothing like this has ever been found.if extraterestial,this thing air burst like the supposed comet explosion over Tunguska leaving very little
evidence.No ballistic (shocked ) quartz has ever been found at tunguska.
4:The grazing angle worries me a bit ,I observed a meteor "skip" the other night right back into space,
5:the tsunami thing certainly could have had the force to pockmock the land ,but not repeated (overlaped)depressions. The angle seems strange and the it would seem ripples would be the expected shape not ovals.It would have to be the mother of all tsunamis !
5:I wouldnt bet the farm on any explaintion I have seen yet but the comet air burst seems the most plausible to me right now.Simple circles ,elipses and spheres are by far some of the most common shapes in the universe, many things are round and depressed ,the sand blows around charleston and the sink holes in florida to name a couple.
The carolina bay thing is not as wierd to me as the fact that in N.C. river bluffs are nearly allways on the south bank,no bluffs on the north?Its like glaciers came down (they are not supposed to have) and stoped on the north bank?
