I have been to 20, ICBM silos between Grover, Keota and the New Raymer CO area. and to two launch comand centers and they "Are Hot" and have camo'd security crews in blue suburbans patroling...
This "Peace Garden" is planted square in the middle of the Pawnee National grasslands and the Pawnee Buttes, a sacred indian ceremonial site. its is very beautiful there with its wide open spaces, dispite the occasional barbwire silo fences.
To finally see one of these omnipotent monsters after fearing them all of my life was shocking to say the least. Locals in the area confirm that they are active and discourage visiting the silos, but oh well ! the lure was too great...
