Indispensable.
Hello, I am an aircraft dispatcher and part of my job is to keep track of the current weather conditions of over 20 airports at any given moment to identify if inbound aircraft will face some weather related issue.
This is a great tool and makes me shine in my position. THANKS!
One suggestion. I see that when I go to a particular airport, there are about two or three Metar symbols there indicating 2 or three METARs (the current one and the past one or two). This is very useful as it allows me to see what the trend is. But I have to click on each of them to see the time the Metar was generated. For airports where there are 3 or more readings, I have to open each of them first and then determine what is the trend by sorting them by time. Could you program in (as an optional layer) something that would identify each symbol? For example, the first obervation could have a 1 next to it, the follwing obervation would have a 2, and so on - This way when someone goes to an airport which is reporting a Metar plus 4 past reports, they will see 5 icons numbered 1 thu 5 and know that the one labeled 5 is the most current and they can easily select 4 for the previous observation, and so on. I dont know which would be easier, a 1 right on the metar symbol or a 1 next to it...
I am a programmer myself just getting started in KML but aviation is pretty consuming and I dont have time to get it done.
Thank you for this powerful and very useful KML file.
Fernando
