Approximately 80% of the people in the world today suffer from poverty. 20% of the world does not have access to clean drinking water. 250,000 children die each week of malnutrition and preventable diseases (www.ewb-usa.org). At Lafayette College, a small group of students has formed a chapter of Engineers Without Borders-USA (EWB-USA) to help communities find sustainable solutions to these problems.
Our chapter is currently involved in building a sustainable water and sanitation systems in La Fortuna, Honduras.
