Briefly, this is the process of adjusting images so that they fit together and fit to the curved earth. Adjacent pictures may have been taken from different vantage points. Each picture will have different perspectives in different areas of the picture, unless taken from a VERY great distance. CLICK HERE for more information. Bridges require extra attention.

    ---- Bosphorus - Bosazii - these have poor orthorectification
    ---- First Bosphorus Bridge (Bosazii Kprs).
    ---- Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge (Fatih Sultan Mehmet Kprs).
    ---- Golden Horn (Hali)
    ---- Galata Bridge (Kprs)
    ---- Atatrk Bridge (Kprs)
    ---- Old Galata Bridge - The photo is correct because the bridge was cut into pieces and was being moved here
    ---- Golden Horn Bridge (Hali Kprs)

  • USA
    ---- Chicago shows buidings split and crashing together
    ---- Houston is an excellent example of a bridge which needs considerable orthprectification
    ---- Hawaii and Washington, DC, deformations of 7.22 square meter rectangles, "squeezing" each from the northeast and southwest corners, throughout the USGS imagery
