GE Blog http://www.gearthblog.com , i thought it would be good time to add a bit more information to coencide with your initial thoughts and idea's for tips and information using SU.
Review Gerardo's initial post for more indepth process descriptions
use construction lines to setupclick orgin with measure tool, mouse over right, type in 20' and hit enter
click orgin with measure tool, mouse over right , type in 12' and hit enter
click orgin with measure tool, mouse down, type in 4' and hit enter
draw 3 lines using construction points (origin to 20' mark , origin to 4'down mark, 4'down mark to 12' mark)
click point A with arc tool
click point B with Arc tool
type in 1' and hit enter (sets buldge 1' from A)
rotate to point of view shown above to create the second surface shown in the above image
draw line1 by entering length = click orgin and move mouse down , then type in 2' and hit enter
draw line2 by entering length = click bottom of 2' line, move mouse to left and then type in 12' and hit enter
draw arc = click point A with arc tool, click point B twice with arc tool, (this will set buldge to 0)
rotate to view above:
with Arc tool create surface A
click surface A with follow me tool, move follow me tool along line B to Point C and click mouse you should end up with the image below:
select the whole image and use move tool while holding down control key copy/move to the right
(check Geraldo's initial post for more detail on move/copy)

use scale tool: click the square that arrow is pointing to in image1 then type in -1 and hit enter (creates mirror) as shown in image 2 above
use move tool to join parts,
(check initial post for more detail of processselect whole model, then right click on model for pull down menu and select "intersect with model"
select unwanted surfaces and lines and hit delete key, (example of partially deleted surfaces and lines)
click top surface with offset tool and type in 3", then delete middle surface or use push pull tool to set recess
select whole model, right click for pull down menu and select reverse (reverses faces from blue to yellowish)
reversed faces render dark in GE
recessed top surface with model surfaces reversed,
arc and diagonal lines used to create sail
note: the how the verticle construction line at 12' can be used later in the model for positioning the mast, or even registration for a keel
