with terrain on When you getview 2 layers are created in SU, GE snapshot (flat image), GE terrain (elevations)

to view layers: Window Menu > layers

With GE: Zoomed to center of location and in SU Get View
opened layer dialog box and renamed GE Snapshot to gess1 and renamed GE Terrain to get1
to open layer dialog box Window Menu > layers
zoom 2nd area and renamed snapshot and terrain to #2
zoom 3rd area and renamed snapshot and terrain to #3






drew vertical line from corner of bldg, and reference rotation base line down length of bldg.

the vertical line was used to register the the location of the aerial.jpg and the rotation base line was used as a reference for rotating the aerial

import and scale hi-res aerial
imported hi-resolution aerial.jpg image: File Menu > import

scaled aerial.jpg: used length of bldg structure in GE snapshot to scale aerial.jpg


Registered aerial.jpg
registered aerial to the GE coords by using rotate and scale tools
once the aerial was scaled, i used the vertical reference line and rotation line to geo-reference the aerial.jpg to GE coords.

vertical lines were drawn off of each corner pixel to be used for registering the same aerial.jpg as an overlay









Adding the aerial.jpg to the .kmz as an overlay

from within SU place model
from within GE Browser: Add Menu > image > aerial.jpg (compressed aerial.jpg image by 40% with ps pro)

used the 4 vertical corner pins to reference overlay:
rotate and move image overlay into position




another example: GE aerial is in the Panama Canal Model (cloud cover over FT. Collins Edited out & multiple getviews for model setup)
