I've enjoyed browsing the imagery of the Himalaya and Karakoram. A user has supplied a nice marking of the road from Manali in the Indian Himalaya, all the way through Lahul & Ladakh to its capital, Leh, where it dovetails nicely with the National Geographic overlay for Leh. But going southeast from Leh, there doesn't seem to be anything -- no place names. It would be nice to see the road going southeast from Leh, noting Alchi (the Sistine Chapel of Buddhism a thousand years ago), the ancient monastery of Lamayuru, tne Fotu-la (a spectacular pass) and the road all the way down to Sonomarg in Kashmir.

Dunno whether this is the appropriate place for this post, but I'm not able to find a more appropriate one.

Also, I'd love to see more detail for the East Himalaya, Darjeeling & its environs, Kalimpong, and some of the key places in Sikkim, such as Gangtok.

Anyway, I'm enjoying Google Earth. Google has created another time-wasting monster!
