The Russian Tundra is constantly burning. The last few years has seen record breaking areas go up in flame, partly because of bad fire management, but mostly because of fierce dry spells. Over the last few years, 1 million+ acres of tundra went up in flames. This is not only a threat to local wild life and people, but also a global CO2 problem.

Included is 52+ locations of 'live' forest fires all over Russia. Some of these were already spotted, but I thought Id make a collection to show just how common they are. The Russian tundra in general is definately worth a bit of surfing, some of these locations are quite spectacular in beauty.

To see them all, make a good cup of coffee or two, set Tour Pause to 60 seconds in GE Options, and run the Russia Burning folder... it will take you about one hour.

Edit: Updated KMZ to include now over 52 Russian forest fires. More will be added as I find them.
