We knew this as "The Spot" or "Blue Jay Way". Some time around 1980, a friend drove us up here for the view of Hollywood and Beverly Hills. As it turns out, this spot was very popular on Friday and Saturday nights for impromptu parties. groups of people gathered either at the end of Blue Jay Way, while others would gather in the hairpin turn of Sunset Plaza Dr. Some of the parties would also be held on the burnt out home site just above the Sunset Plaza.

Late in the eighties, the authorities started to crack down on the gatherings.
