I've been doing the support flying for the NWS sites since their original survey and construction. Mainly in the Bar, Pin, Cam sections.

All of the main sites, Bar 1-4, Pin Main Cape Young, Clinton, and all the main Cam sites were more than capable of taking Hercs from the 109th in NY. The sub sites like Pin A were surveyed by Norseman, and generally supported by C47 C46 and Avro Yorks during construction, with some of the larger sites like Cam Main getting Globemasters (one of which resides in the bay a 1/2 mile from the site).

Generally the main dewline sites, BAR II BAR III Pin MAIN, LADY FRANKLIN, CAM MAIN, SHEPHERD, & FOX MAIN are still more or less intact, and serve as staging bases for ongoing maintenance of the sub NWS Sites.

The small sites like PIN A were de-comissioned in the early 70's. Site detail on these sites like BAR I is sparse, since over the last 10 years most of the remains of these earlier sites have been removed.

Runways, un-maintained for 15 years are slowly decaying, but flying into these sites by Twin Otter, I will often just use the adjacent roads.
