Frank, your input very much appreciated
was not aware of aerial projection prolems, and i can understand the provider/eyeball comment since i have seen it first hand though not for the GE world. I guess this is somewhat necessary and expected when utilizing an array of aerial resolutions.
your post gives me a much better understanding as to why:
* in the gulf of mexico, no notable error (since there are no ground features to reference) *grin*
* why image overlays positioned with raster extents from esri do not overlay with GE terrain, though those extents are necessary for alignment of pgons & pts exported to SU or GE from ESRI.
(if i use raster extents for terrain overlays i end up having to stretch/reposition/rotate the overlay to coencide with the GE aerial, then this forces me to do the same for the model .... and so on .... and so on ..)
i am thinking my best bet would be to keep the raster extents from gis instead of doing the force fit thing, which i so much oppose, geesh i can be such a hypocrite, ha!
thanks again for giving an understanding...
