Notes on my dables page which details my playing the Google Earth (and Maps) ]
On
www.geograph.co.uk [which is a site attempting to collect representitve photos of every square kilometer of the british isles], we've just added a kml export, so you can view images directly in Google Earth
15 Latest Images Submitted (particully suited as a Network Link)
Random Selection of photos across the British IslesAltenative random selection50 Winter photos or
50 Summer photos50 of London(we have a fairly flexible query system, so can create quite spacialised exports, this is just a simple set of examples)
All of these are suitable for a Network Link, results are cached for an hour so no point setting a "Time-Based Refresh" less than that. Sadly the 'View-Based Refresh' is not supported yet, but is on the wish list!
=====================
Also I've added kml networklink support to my site
www.nearby.org.uk, using the 'View-Based Refresh' feature, to be able to explore about 15 layers of points, most linked to further information webpages.
simply visit this page:
http://www.nearby.org.uk/google/links.kml.pl you then should have a 'Nearby.org.uk NetworkLink' Folder, you can just open this folder and tick the layers you are interested in.
[edited so the link now works, sorry to anyone who tried it before...]
=====================
Would be very interested to hear peoples experience of this,
Regards Barry, Geograph Developer and Maintainer of nearby.org.uk
