There's quite a lot of watertowers in Bucharest. I started taking photos of them in November 2005. You can find these photos on this
blog . While browsing with Google Earth, many of them are quite hard to spot, and that is because they are vertical objects and they pointed towards the satellite camera while they were photographed.
There are several types of watertowers in Bucharest. The one in the left upper corner is a Communist type, that I also call the mushroom type, because of the shape of its tank. The two twin towers in the photos underneath are of a different type. All the watertowers are linked to the water networks of the city, most of them being the main water supply for factories.
