You know, everything cannot fit into the screen. Therefore, as you realized, it is something with your altitude. As you near the earth, you'll see the sub divisions and, lastly, our placemarks.

There are two more ways (besides the "Populated Places" layer as your on-off button):
1. Check the "Borders": so you can also see the borders of each sub district and find any that you are looking for.
2. You can click on "Fly To" button on the very topleft corner, type the name of the city and press ENTER. But before that, you have to locate your globe so as the region where you expect the city you are looking for faces with you. You will find lots of pins for Otsego and Plainwell.
