This is the marker for the 'prime meridian' of Canada, apparently the exact centre of the geographic area of Canada. In fact, all north-south mile roads east and west of this marker are labelled for the number of miles (established in pre-metric days) east or west of this marker. It is located just west of Headingley, Manitoba, and just north of the service road on the north side of the Trans-Canada Highway, the 'number one'.
