Whilst I have huge admiration for the book and the series these kind of discrepancies really annoy me!

Did they not bother to research properly? How could they have got it so wrong? Carentan was a great episode but is slightly marred for me but this error. Surely if you have an episode centred around a real life person youd do your homework properly about what happened to him/her after?
