yepp, as my grandfather was an ethnic tt/slovak (btw: the word "tt" is not at all offensive! not at all!) - he did not speak hungarian till the age of 3, yet he developed a strong hungarian conscience: or as he put it: "I've learnt being hungarian in slovak". he was a great man and did a lot to his community as a lutheran pastor, he held masses in both languages. and he was very sad to see tourist information boards in Slovakia in 7 languages but hungarian. yes,
and also, information boards in the castle of Rozsny (Roznava) saying "that's where hungarian mercenaries defended Slovakia against ottomans" - (problems: 18th century: no ottomans, no Slovakia, and the hungarian army was probably not of mercenaries, defending their own country, I mean both your and my ancestor's country, brother..!)
and also finding a counter under every "Kassa" sign in Kosice is not a joke either. yesss, I should've started with present SK's oppressive laws on language use.
SOo look who's talking in the 3rd millenia.
