Approximate location of the 75-acre estate of Frank Frazetta, the much-loved and endlessly copied fantasy and science-fiction artist, who will turn 80 on February 9, 2008. The site includes his home and a museum dedicated to his work.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, Frank was only eight when his parents enrolled him in the Brooklyn Academy of Fine Arts, and at 16 was illustrating western, fantasy, mystery and history comic books. Frazetta turned down Disney but worked with Al Capp on "Li'l Abner" while producing his own strip, "Johnny Comet". Later he drew the "Little Annie Fanny" strip in Playboy magazine and did the movie poster for "What's New Pussycat?", He created many memorable covers for adventure novels including "Conan the Adventurer", "Tarzan" and the John Carter of Mars series, and worked with film producer Ralph Bakshi on the 1983 animated feature "Fire and Ice".

The Frank Frazetta Museum has recently returned to his Pennsylvania property after spending several years in Boca Grande, Florida. Here, a 3,000-square-foot gallery has been built with cathedral ceilings.
