Many times we heard about how much would rise the sea level due to polar ice melting. Someone says 30 mts, others 15, others 8...who knows..

Truth is there are many people living at shores around the world and they would be seriously affected.

This GIS graphics animation shows what would happend to a piece of Argentine and Uruguay shores if the sea level rises 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 meters.

Its very difficult to calculate the impact such kind of flood would cause. Think in Buenos Aires downtown, few people lives there but many thousands go to work everyday to that part of the city.
The economy would be affected as 90% of export sales goes out trough Buenos Aires Harbour.

Not to make the file so big I didnt create the upstreams flooded areas. But both Paran and Uruguay rivers would be seriously flooded, bringing caos at big cities like Rosario and Santa F in Argentina and Fray Bentos in Uruguay.

Based on NASA SRTM with 90 meters resolution.
