(updated Sept 9th, 5pm CDT)

NOAAoverlays-netlink.kml

Through some serious efforts by NASA/CMU/Google, this file has been created doing basic alignment on all images currently available from NOAA . Please note that the imagery it points to are 4Kx4K files (very large) so only download what you really need.

Also please note that this is now (as of Sept 5th) a network link that will grab the latest version of the file every few hours. This means that you can save it to your My Places area and whenever you start the program and enable it, it will update.

(As of 3pm PDT, Sep 9, the file this network link points to has been updated to "v21" and contains _all_ NOAA imagery flown. This may be the last of the direct NOAA imagery as they move to another method of acquiring data... more details as we know more)

DG-Aug31-VBR.kmz
We are now offering a dynamic-VBR-overlay of the August 31st Digital Globe data on top of Google Earth. This is running on an experimental server and uptime is not guaranteed.

After you zoom into New Orleans, 2 seconds after your motion stops, it will fetch tiled overlays. You can adjust the transparency of the whole group by selecting the well-labeled folder containing the overlays. Each time you move and then stop, it will update.
